Rufino J. “Butt” Guerra, Jr., age 80 years, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Carpenter House in River Ridge, LA.

Beloved husband of Thelma Alfonso Guerra for 62 years. Loving father of Guy Guerra, Ricky Guerra, Sr. (Beth), and Tanya G. Villanueva (Lanny). Grandfather of Ricky, Jr., Kerry, Sr., Colby, Sr., Tiffanie, Jessica, Natasha, Kristin, Lauren, and Amber. Son of the late Rufino J. Guerra, Sr. and Bertha Campo Guerra. Son-in-law of the late John Alfonso and Carmelita “Baba” Alfonso. Brother of Nancy Martinez (Willie), Norvan “Chuckie” Guerra (Jean), Denny Guerra, Sr., (Sissy), Dianne Glaser (Bob), and the late Leonard Guerra, Alfred “Punk” Guerra, Sr. (the late Anna Mae). Brother-in-law of Manuel Alfonso (Jeanette), and the late Louis Alfonso, Walter “Nayko” Alfonso, Herman “Dut” Alfonso (the late Nona), Anna Mae Peris Reed (the late Steve). Also survived by his sisters-in-law Pauline and Barbara Alfonso, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Rufino “Butt” was a retired Iron Worker for the Local 58 Iron Workers Union/Boh Bros. for 42 years. Prior to his career, Butt loved fishing commercially and recreationally, trapping and hunting, and being in the outdoors with his family and friends. He was well known as being the toughest, hard working man anyone has ever known. His last days were filled with joy being spent surrounded by his family and friends. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of The Carpenter House and also his home health nurse, Danielle Rowbatham.
