Camille A. Trahan passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of the late Ida Mae Solar Trahan for 59 years. Loving father of Carol T. Gallagher (Allen Gallagher), Joseph W. Trahan (Daniel Cicet) and Donald Trahan (Judy Trahan). Proud grandfather of Brad Gallagher (Sonia) and Jeff Gallagher (Lori). Great grandfather of Emily Gallagher, Ella Gallagher and Gianna Gallagher. Preceded in death by his parents Augustan and Camellia Bourg Trahan; one sister and two brothers.
Camille enlisted in the United States Navy in 1943. He proudly served in World War II & the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1951. He joined the United States Coast Guard Reserve in 1968 and retired as a Warrant Officer after 20 years of service. Camille was an employee of Murphy Oil and retired after many years of service and served as a Louisiana Notary for many years. He was an active member with St. Bernard Council Aging and a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Camille will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest with military honors in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Metairie, LA.
