Leon Prevot, Jr. passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the age of 91 at Heritage Manor of Slidell. He was the son of the late Leon Prevot Sr. and Lydia Juneau. Brother of the late Dorothy Helminger and Bernadine Laborde. He was the devoted and loving husband of the late Betty Dubord for 61 years. Father of Stephen Prevot (Cathy), Keith Prevot (Sandy) and Kevin Prevot. Proud grandfather of
Neely Galila, Stephen Prevot Jr., Jovi Prevot and Katie Prevot. Great grandfather of Kayla Kinler, Drex Hansen, Falyn Galila, Josilin Prevot and Natalie Prevot. Great-great grandfather of Raine and Brooke Caulley. He is also survived and fondly remembered by his adoring nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Leon was quiet, but a deeply loving and caring man, who was especially fond of fishing trips alone or in the company of his friends and family. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Louise DeMarrilac in Arabi and St. Genevieve in Slidell. He enjoyed a long career at Hingle and Delta Shipyards, Flintkote and Andrew Jackson High School.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, December 13th from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in Leon’s memory beginning at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Betty in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
