Mary Ann Waguespack passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Monday, December 12, 2016 at the age of 59. She was the loving daughter of the late Warren and Thelma Waguespack Sr. Beloved sister of Warren G. Waguespack Jr. (Yolanda) and Patricia W. Acosta (CJ). Devoted lifetime partner of Mark Perniciaro. Aunt of Kathleen A. Galdamez (Alan), Cas Acosta (Kelli), Michael Waguespack and Nicole W. Thibodeaux. She is also survived and fondly remembered by dear friends, cousins and especially Margie Perniciaro, Dr. Peter Perniciaro (Rebecca), Cindy Heier (L.G.), Sandra Dempsey (Robert), Dr. Michael Perniciaro, Margie Palmeri (Mark), Laurie Lassus (Gene) and the late Kent Perniciaro and Paul Perniciaro.
Mary Ann was a native of New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. If she wasn’t enjoying time spent with her friends and family, she could often be found hunting for deals on Ebay or fielding search requests from Google. Mary Ann’s battle with cancer was long and hard, yet she rarely showed any pain or fear. She’s the strongest young lady we have ever known, and she never quit fighting. Although her illness occasionally made her appear frail, she possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With her courage she led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. She was well loved and will be deeply missed by her family and by all those whose lives she touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, December 17th from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., followed by a Memorial Mass in her memory beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
