Emmet Joseph Ducote, Jr. passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the age of 75. He was the beloved former husband of Barbara Ryder Ducote. Loving father of Emmet Ducote III, Dwayne Ducote (Theresa) and Barbara Ducote Scott (Jeffrey). Son of the late Emmet Ducote Sr. and Mary Lovoi Ducote. Brother of Gayle Giroir, Vincent Ducote Sr., Lionel Ducote Sr., Robert Ducote Sr., Donald Ducote Sr., Raymond Ducote Sr. and the late Edward Ducote and Mary Ann deArmas. Proud grandfather of Geoffrey Ducote, Dwayne Ducote Jr. (Lacey), Tiffany Ducote, Katherine Scott and Justin Scott. Great grandfather of Lathan, Jayden, Liam and Luke. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Emmet was born in New Orleans, LA on October 27, 1941 and a resident of St. Bernard Parish since 1991. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family. Emmet will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
