Marie Louise Navilhon Rowan passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the age of 76. Beloved companion of the late Emmett “Sonny” Patten, Sr. for 50 years. Loving mother of Joanna Marie Cunningham Minter (Warren) and Linda Christine Patten Guidry. Daughter of the late Loretta Diaz Navilhon and Maurice Navilhon, Sr. Sister of the late Maurice Navilhon, Jr., Charlie Navilhon, Mildred Navilhon, Nathalie Navilhon, Beverly Navilhon, Evelyn Navilhon, Richard Navilhon, Loretta Navilhon and Delores Navilhon. Proud grandmother of Lauren Nicole Lanning, Cory Rock Lanning and Kade Wilfred Guidry. Great grandmother of Leito Noah Haskins and the late Hunter Daniel Atkins. She will be fondly remembered as “Great” to her nieces and nephews, Cindy Hauck, Eric Vadovsky and Deborah Trentecosta.
Marie was born on November 29, 1940 in New Orleans, LA. She was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish and a current resident of Pearl River, LA. Marie was a longtime employee of Schwegmann’s Supermarket and Walmart for many years. She retired from the Omni Royal Orleans after 21 years of dedicated service. Marie will deeply missed by her family and friends.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend a visitation held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. A funeral service began at 1:00 p.m. She was laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
