Armenio Noe Alvarado, Sr.

Armenio Noe Alvarado Sr. passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the age of 84. He was the beloved husband of the late Zoila Alvarado. Loving father of Elizabeth Ramirez; Hector Alvarado; Armenio Alvarado, Jr. and the late Beto Alvarado. Son of the late Ambrosio and Emelda Garcia Alvarado. Brother of Chano Alvarado and the late Mario Alvarado and Elio Alvarado. Proud grandfather of Edwin Alvarado, Wilson Alvarado, Milan Alvarado, Zoila Susanna Gonzalez and Luz Mirian Ospina. Great grandfather of Eduardo Chavarria Jr., Victoria Chavarria, Charlotte Chavarria, Jose Alfredo Alvarado, Melany Rossangela Alvarado and Abner Angel David Alvarado. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Armenio was a native of Guatemala City and a longtime resident of Orleans Parish before settling in Houston, TX following hurricane Katrina. He was a devoted and faithful servant to his Lord and Savior and a minister of the Spanish congregation of the Church of Christ on Carrollton Avenue for over 11 years. He enjoyed preaching the gospel to family, friends and also in the mountains of Guatemala, New Jersey, New York, and enjoyed his missionary work in Honduras and Central America. He was well loved and affectionately known for his good nature and generous heart. He will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and a friend of many, who loved his Lord and treasured his family.

Relatives and friends were invited to attend a visitation held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, May 6th from 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of his life that began at 1:00 p.m. He was laid to rest next to his beloved wife in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
