Edgar Norman Quillin

Edgar Norman Quillin passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the age of 90. He was the loving father of John “Jack” Quillin (Wendy), Gayle McCurdy (Edward), Scott Quillin (Danae) and Mark Quillin. Son of the late Bernie and Laveda Quillin. Proud grandfather of Alicia Quillin, Shelby Antoine, Derek Hungerford, Teri McCurdy, Chaz Quillin, Brittany Piergalski, Seth Quillin, Skye Quillin and Sneaux Quillin. He is also survived and fondly remembered by his 6 great grandchildren, alone with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Edgar was born in Texas and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish where he enjoyed a long career as a trial attorney for over 60 years. He was a member of the Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge, a charter member of the Rotary Club, co-founder of the St. Bernard Methodist Church of Chalmette and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Essex during World War II. Following his service in the Navy, he graduated from Tulane University with a Juris Doctor Degree. He enjoyed breakfast at Par-3 on Paris Rd. and lunch at Council on Aging. He was well loved and will be deeply missed by his family and by all those whose lives he touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at Covenant United Methodist Church, 115 E. Damour St, Chalmette, LA on Saturday, May 13th from 10:00 a.m. – noon, followed by a memorial service in Edgar’s memory beginning at noon. Burial will be private.
