Donald Raymond Tessier passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017 at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband of Lois Cordes Tessier. Loving father of Keith Billiot (Darla), Stacey Edenfield (Anthony) and the late Paul Caranek, Jr. Son of the late Henry and Leonide Marin Tessier. Brother of the late Delores T. Bennett, Lorraine T. Magee, Rolland Tessier and Russell “Rusty” Tessier. Proud grandfather of Nathan Billiot, Eddie Edenfield, Rene Billiot, Kevin Billiot, Anthony “AJ” Edenfield, Jr. and Alyssa Edenfield. He is also survived and fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Donald was a native of Lowell, MA and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather and brother, who treasured his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, May 11th from 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral Mass in Donald’s memory beginning at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
