Kenneth James Forsyth

Kenneth “Bro. Kenny” James Forsyth passed away peacefully at his home and went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the age of 62. Beloved husband of Joan Treitler Forsyth for 41 years. Loving father of his four legged daughter, Carly. Son of the late Archibald Forsyth and Helen Flad Forsyth. Brother of Archie Forsyth Jr. (Sandy), David Forsyth Sr. (Patsy) and Keith Forsyth (Terry). Brother-in-law of Jane Nunez (Keith) and Carl “Pistol” Treitler Jr. (Lori). Proud uncle of Chrissy Bourlet (Mike), Archie Forsyth III (Callie), David Forsyth Jr. (Kay), Jeanne Forsyth (Greg), Michael Forsyth, Brandon Rappuhn, William Forsyth, Sharon Forsyth and Carl “Teddy” Treitler III. Great uncle of Victoria Bourlet, Madeline Forsyth, Emmeline Forsyth and David Forsyth III. Godfather of Chrissy Bourlet, David Forsyth Jr., Michael Forsyth and Corin Billot. Also survived by his mother-in-law, Joan L. Treitler and preceded in death by his father-in-law, Carl Treitler Sr.

Kenneth was born on March 23, 1955 in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He was a 3rd degree and 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus – Archbishop J. F. Rummel Council 5747 and also served as Past GrandKnight.

Bro. Kenny founded the Servants of Christ Food Distribution Center in 1995 and was on a mission to help the poor, addicted and outcast. He was a dedicated missionary for the Servants of Christ for 21 years. Bro. Kenny will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends.

The family would like to give their deepest thanks to the staff of Interim Home Health; nurse, Cliff; Physical Therapists, Ryan and Lisa; Occupational Therapists, Geri and Shelley & Notre Dame Hospice staff; nurses, Gina and Lorean; chaplain, Kristen and social worker; Frances. Also a very special thanks to Amanda Hill for her dedicated service and care for Bro. Kenny.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. The Knights of Columbus will lead the Rosary at 12:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
