Old Arabi hosts Sippin’ in the Sunset

Cypress Pop Trio members Lindsey Tassin, Thomas Palmeri and James Palmeri perform at the Aycock Barn.

Come bring the season of “sippin’” to a celebratory close with your friends and neighbors when The Old Arabi Neighborhood Association hosts it last “Sippin’ in the Sunset” on Thursday, May 18 from 6 -9 pm at the Aycock Barn.

One of St Bernard’s premier events, “Sippin’” is part social and part marketplace, featuring live music, food, art, crafts, and of course, beer and wine.

Local favorite Cypress Pop Trio will provide the music for the event. One of its members, James Palmeri, said the group is enjoying success, but especially loves playing gigs in their hometown.

“Cypress’s roots are planted strong and growing. We are thrilled to be playing at this upcoming hometown show.”

Sippin’ in the Sunset provides the perfect opportunity to relax and visit with friends. Event coordinator Katherine Lemoine encourages everyone to come out and enjoy the good weather, the good music, and the great food and art.

“Besides good food and drink, Sippin’ in the Sunset showcases talented local artists and crafters,” Lemoine said.

Lemoine said Sippin’ is now in its 4th season, and that the event continues to be a good time for a good cause, raising money for neighborhood beautification projects and community outreach.

“Each time our event gets a little bigger and a little bit better,” Lemoine said.

She was also quick to point out that all of the planning, work, setting up, and cleaning up for this three-hour, happy hour is done by the volunteers of OANA.

“We are so thankful to our Arabi friends and neighbors who have helped to make this event a success,” Lemoine said.

“We welcome everyone to join us for delicious and local food, wine, live music, unique arts and crafts, and so much more. It promises to be another good time in Old Arabi.
