St. Bernard Parish Government partners with LA Department of Agriculture and Forestry on two revvegetation projects

The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry’s Coastal Revegetation Program recently partnered with St. Bernard Parish Government and Common Ground on two coastal restoration planting projects. On March 28th, the group worked with local land owners and volunteers from the University of California at San Diego to plant 500 plugs of Roseau cane grass in the Reggio area. The second planting took place on May 2nd where the group worked with volunteers from Spalding University (Louisville, Kentucky) to plant 1,500 plugs of Smooth cordgrass along Bayou La Loutre in various locations between Hopedale and Baker’s Canal.
