Nunez Community College to Offer Notary Public Course

Nunez Community College will offer a training course for those interested in becoming a notary public during the fall term through its workforce development division. The notary public course will be offered from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Mondays from August 28 to November 29. To enroll in the notary course visit www.nunez.edu/admissions/Workforce-Development.

An active commissioned Louisiana notary public as a licensed attorney, who is a registered notary education preparation course provider, will teach the non-credit course for persons interested in preparing to take the Louisiana Notary Examination, which is given twice a year on the first Saturday in June and December at regional testing centers.

The course fee of $500.00 includes access to the lecture class and a copy of the Secretary of State’s official study guide for the exam, Fundamentals of Louisiana Notarial Law and Practice. Students must independently complete a notary exam pre-assessment application to qualify and an application to qualify in order to take the state notary exam, which includes fees that are not included in cost of the class at Nunez.


Nunez Community College is an open-enrollment comprehensive community college offering over 30 academic and technical programs. Fall 2017 classes start Monday, August 21.
