St. Bernard Parish Library’s six-weeks of literary fun nearing its close

The St. Bernard Parish Library’s 2017 Build a Better World Summer Reading Program is nearing completion. We will work through our punch list of events as we bring our six-weeks of literary fun to a close. Three ‘Build a Better You’ story craft programs are scheduled for Tuesday, July 11th at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and again on Wednesday, July 12th at 11 a.m. Summer readers who are working up a sweat trying to get their activity sheets finished before the deadline are invited to attend the Cool Down with Cane’s and a Craft program on Thursday, July 13th at 11:30a.m. Participants will make a summer-themed craft and enjoy some deliciously refreshing Cane’s lemonade or iced tea. Readers are urged to complete construction of their activity/game sheets by the Thursday, July 13th deadline in order to be entered into the prize drawings. The Grand Finale Prize Drawing for pre-readers through 5th graders is set for Friday, July 14th at 3 p.m. The Teens and Tweens Prize Drawing for 6th through 12th graders is set for Saturday, July 15th at 11:30 a.m. Winners must be present at the prize drawings. Pre-readers through 5th graders who finish their activity sheets will receive a certificate of completion and a McDonald’s coupon. 6th through 12th graders turning in their activity sheets will receive a magnetic bookmark, while supplies last, along with McDonald’s coupons. Adult readers have until Saturday, July 29th to complete their bingo games. They will receive a magnetic bookmark, while supplies last, with a McDonald’s coupon and will be entered into the August 1st Prize Drawing. Adult winners will be notified by phone. Younger readers finishing after their prize drawings also have until August 1st to receive their reading rewards.
