The 2nd grade students at Arlene Meraux Elementary School just finished a unit on Fairy Tales and Tall Tales. Students and teachers dressed up as their favorite character and retold their character’s story. In the afternoon, students enjoyed Fairy Tale and Tall Tale themed centers. Students were able to build a train track like John Henry and log cabins out of logs that Paul Bunyan chopped down. They also were able to practice chopping Twinkie trees like Paul Bunyan. Students enjoyed drawing a scene from their favorite fairy tale we read in class. It was a wonderful day of interactive learning that the bees throughly enjoyed!
