Alfred Francis Sidney Sander passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 at the age of 76. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Nezida Bozant Sander. Son of the late Karl and Myrian Sander. Loving father of Lori Sander and Ray Sander. Brother of the late Karl Sander Jr., Ronald Sander, Donald Sander and Cecile Barnes. Proud grandfather of Misty Patingo, Drake Sander and Patrick Sander. Great grandfather of Gavin Greenberg and Rudy Max Flores. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and the host of many caregivers throughout his journey.
Alfred was a lifelong resident of Chalmette, LA where his love of gardening was surpassed only by his trips to the casino. He was well loved and affectionately known for his good nature and generous heart. He will be especially missed by his precious granddaughter, Misty Marie. He was her “favorite” and whole heart. She was his laughter and the light in his eyes. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all those whose lives he touched.
