Lee Richard Gonzales, Jr. passed away, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, October 30, 2017, at the age of 86. Loving father of Lee Richard Gonzales III (Mattie), Debra Dominio (Greg), Robert Reynolds (Judy) and Lenny Reynolds (Charlene). Devoted grandfather of Lee IV, Mia, Tate and Cami Gonzales; Lenny Reynolds Jr.; Gregory Jr., and Aaron Dominio. Great-grandfather of 3. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Violet Villanueva Gonzales and Lee Richard Gonzales; his two sisters Antoinette “Netsie” Gonzales and Leola Gervais (Ernest). Lee was a carpenter and fisherman by trade. He was a Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict and he was a Purple Heart recipient. The family would like to express special thanks to his caregiver Stacey Branch, the staff of John J. Hainkel Nursing Home and the staff of Hospice Compassus.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2621 Colonial Blvd, Violet, LA 70092 on Monday, November 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
