President Guy McInnis has announced that St. Bernard Parish Government will hold its annual Veterans’ Day Parade and Recognition Ceremony on Saturday, November 11, 2017. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at the corner of Old Hickory Avenue and Judge Perez Drive. The route will travel west on Judge Perez Drive and end at the Frederick Sigur Civic Center, located at 8245 W. Judge Perez Drive. Immediately following the parade a Recognition Ceremony will be held in front of the Veterans Monument for all veterans.

Veterans from all branches of the military are invited to be recognized in this year’s ceremony and to ride in the parade. The parade will provide vehicles for elderly or disabled veterans if needed.

The parade and recognition ceremony will honor the many veterans who have sacrificed and those who continue to sacrifice to protect our country. There will be many groups participating in the parade such as the Honor Guard, Color Guard, and ROTC.

“We invite everyone to come out and line the parade route to show your Parish Pride and Support, not only for our Veterans but for Veterans around the country,” said President McInnis. Flags will be distributed along the parade route to be waived in celebration.
