Dr. Carlo Carollo

Dr. Carlo Carollo, DDS, 84, succumbed to injuries sustained in an automobile accident on November 11, 2017. He prepared the heavens for the arrival of his beloved wife, Angelina, preceding her in death by only one day. The loving father of three sons, the late Louis Carollo, husband of Maria; Carlo Carollo, Jr., husband of Je’anine; and Frank Carollo. He is survived by his brothers, Frank M. Carollo, husband of Pat and Ben Carollo, husband of Lucille. Dr. Carollo was a proud grandfather of Maria Carollo Nunez, wife of Jeremy; Louis Carollo, husband of  Loren; Teresa, Aaron, and Nicholas, husband of Kierstynne; and Carlo and his great-grandchildren, Jacob, Layla and Jeremy, Jr.

He was the son of the late Louis and Minnie Pipitone Carollo and brother of the late Rosalie C. Schiro, Nina C. Ballero, Bernadine C. Bonnecarrere, Mary C. Mouton, Josephine “FeFe” Carollo, Louise C. Hymel, and Florence C. Mistretta.  Dr. Carollo, DDS, was a graduate of Holy Cross School and Loyola University School of Dentistry, Class of 1959. During his longtime residence in St. Bernard Parish, he served as the president of the St. Bernard Italian American Cultural Society and reigned as the King of the Our Lady of Lourdes Mardi Gras Ball in 1978.

He was the patriarch of the entire Carollo family for many years and much loved by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A devoted husband and father, his love of family was followed closely by his passion for traveling along with his beloved Angelina, family, and friends. He will be greatly missed by all, especially, lifelong friends and numerous patients and colleagues throughout his life.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, November 18, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest, with his wife, in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
