Benfatti, Sr., and the late Betty S. Benfatti. Patrick leaves behind his wonderful wife Melanie Davis Benfatti, who has been his rock, caregiver, and nurse, staying by his bedside for the last 8 months. Father of Erika, Carmella, Dominic, Antonio, Isabella and Mallerie Benfatti, Krystal B. Kelley, Gabby Snyder-Benfatti, and Rachel Caro, and grandchildren, Danny, Jr., Devin, Darian, Danilo, Antonio, and Eva. He was the brother of Jude T. Benfatti, Jr. (Darlene), and sisters Kim M. Benfatti and Michelle M. Benfatti. He is also survived by step-mother Cynthia L. Benfatti and step-siblings Dawn Weldon and James Steinkamp III. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Paw-Paw Anthony Smith and Maw-Maw Pauline Smith, as well as his paternal grand-parents Anthony Benfatti Sr., and Anna Bono Benfatti. He was also survived by a host of beloved family and friends, who loved him dearly.

He was born in the St. Roch area, before moving to New Orleans East in 1970. He lived the latter part of his life in Houma, with his loving wife.

Patrick was a jack of all trades and found his calling while serving as a police officer in many parishes throughout Louisiana. He was a self-taught musician and had a deep love for music, dancing, and singing. He enjoyed working as a D.J. in and around Orleans Parish, and found joy in the sports of boxing and bodybuilding, and loved to watch the Saints, Tulane, and LSU.

Patrick was always the life of the party and a practical joker. He was never without a smile and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Terrebonne General Medical Center, Hospice of South Louisiana and Dr. Jules Dupont for their loving attention and support during Patrick’s last days. A special debt gratitude is extended to Rachelle Snyder and Jerome Fontenot for their unwavering love, care and dedication to Patrick.
