The Emerging Professional Council hosts Christmas Fun-Raiser to benefit CASA on Friday

Join the St. Bernard Emerging Professional Council (EPC) in the spirit of giving this holiday season. The St. Bernard Chamber’s young professionals will be organizing a toy drive and fundraiser to help bring some Christmas cheer to the children of CASA.

On Friday, December 8, 2017, from 5 pm – 8 pm EPC will be hosting a networking social and Christmas Fun-Raiser at Frozen Fantasies in Meraux. Admission is a suggested donation of $5 – $20 or a gift. Crazy Cajun’s Fish Shack, located next door, will also be donating 15% of proceeds that day to purchase gifts for CASA kids!

Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in their “Holiday Best.”  Frozen Fantasies will have a sweet prize for the best outfit!  Anyone interested in attending or donating can do so at the following website http://bit.ly/2AgNzcV or by paying cash at the door.

CASA New Orleans fights for the rights of abused and neglected children in both Orleans and St. Bernard Parish. They provide trained volunteers to advocate for foster children’s best interest in the court. CASA’s goal is to ensure that every child has a safe, permanent, nurturing home.

ABOUT EMERGING PROFESSIONAL COUNCIL

Emerging Professionals Council is a committee of the St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce that provides a variety of networking opportunities to young professionals working, living, and doing business in St. Bernard Parish.  Through the support of the St. Bernard Chamber and the 2017 presenting sponsor, St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation, EPC hosts socials open to Chamber and Non-Chamber members.  The council consists of a diverse panel of young professionals appointed by the St. Bernard Chamber.

ABOUT CASA NEW ORLEANS

The CASA program was created in 1977 by a family court judge who could see that the system in place to care for foster kids was underfunded and overworked.  CASA New Orleans is a private, non-profit organization, managed by a board of directors and operated by staff. We receive funding from a variety of sources including the United Way of Southeast Louisiana, Temporary Aid for Needy Families, Victims of Crime Assistance as well as other private foundations, corporations and generous individuals.  The mission of CASA is to provide trained community volunteers to advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children in court.  Their goal is to ensure that every child has a safe, permanent, nurturing home.  More information can be found at their website casaneworleans.org
