Charles “Poppie” Richard Thomas passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at the age of 69. Beloved father of Bonnie Thomas Morrow (Jack). Stepfather of Ryan Joseph Grayson (Kaylee) and Taz Anthony Grayson. Son of the late Robert Bernard Thomas Jr. and Patricia Ann Thomas. Brother of Harold Calkins, Robert Thomas III, Kevin Thomas and James York. Proud grandfather of Jack Thomas Morrow. Godfather of Bridget Sabathe. Also survived by his beloved furever friends Toby, Scooter and Zap.
Charles was a proud United States Navy Reserve Veteran and spent time in Africa from 1960 to 1963, California 1963 to 1964 before returning to Chalmette in 1965. He enjoyed fishing & had a passion for saving animals and he especially cherished spending time with his family. Charles will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend a memorial visitation held at Celebration Church, 7500 W.
