Reading Around the World (RAW) is a program sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of St
Bernard for the past 31 years. Volunteer s read books to pre-k students at all of the elementary schools in the parish twice a year and afterward, the books are given to the student. This year, the program touched the lives of over 600 students in St. Bernard Parish emphasizing the importance of reading. Volunteers are provided by the Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard and Aktion Club from the Arc of Greater New Orleans – St Bernard Project. The Kiwanis Club will donate 1,200+ books for the 2017-2018 school year to the nine Elementary Schools in St. Bernard Parish, Lynn Oaks, OLPS and the seven public schools. Kiwanis is looking for sponsors and donors. Please contact Michael B. Chutz at (504) 650-0291 or mbchutz@gmail.com.
