Theresa “Slola” Laborde Landry passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the age of 93. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in some way throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard J. Landry Sr., her parents, Ethel and Joseph Sloclum Laborde and her siblings, Sister Frances Laborde S.T.J, Sister Agnes Laborde S.T.J. and Ella Peterson. Loving mother of Theresa L. Poche, Richard J. Landry Jr. and Denis M. Landry. Proud grandmother of Ricky Landry, Brian Landry, April Poche, Tammy Manasco, Steven Landry, Jessica Brown and Ryan De Alminana. Great-grandmother of Drake De Alminana, Demi De Alminana, David Hanley Jr., Andrew Hanley, Ali Brown, Emma Brown, Michael Landry, Addison Landry, Micah Bertucci, Cole Landry, Maliyah Landry and Ricky Landry. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Theresa was born in New Orleans, LA where she grew up in the French Quarter and attended St. Louis Cathedral School, later settling in Chalmette, LA for many years. She especially enjoyed Mardi Gras parades and traveling. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life and caring deeply for her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her loyalty and dedication to her family, her caring, and loving spirit, and spoiling the grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by us all.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, January 27th from 9:30 a.m. to noon, followed by a funeral Mass beginning at noon.
