Mrs. Jacqueline “Jackie” L’Hoste passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family and loved ones, on January 20, 2018, at 12:55 PM. She was 85. Jacqueline is survived by her loving husband Lester. Children: Lester L’Hoste, Jr. (Linda), Craig L’Hoste (Earline), Yolanda Waguespack (Warren), Keith L’Hoste (Melissa), and Michelle Wright (Ken). Grandchildren: Jason L’Hoste (Leanna), Jonathan L’Hoste, Sommer L’Hoste, Michael Waguespack, Nicole Thibodeaux (James), Becky Madere (Cody), Hannah Cozzo (Chad), Hillary Cousins (Jeremy), Nicholas Wright and Kaitlyn Wright. Great grandchildren: Madison L’Hoste, Trey Thibodeaux, Jordan Thibodeaux, Dax Madere, Demi Olivia Nelson, Caden DeGruy, Leighton Cozzo, Rilynn Cousins, and Vivian Cousins. Jacqueline is preceded in death by her mother, Irene Glassy Stiller.
Jacqueline was born on October 4, 1932, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Jacqueline and Lester were married 65 years. They were residents of St. Bernard Parish for 61 years. Jacqueline was remembered for being an astonishing woman with a passion and talent for cooking and being a devoted wife and mother. Her family will remember her as a spirited matriarch who will be loved and missed immensely.
A visitation was held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Road in Chalmette, on Friday, January 26, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with a Mass that followed at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in Jacqueline’s honor.
