Theresa Rickerson Shields went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 2, 2018, at the age of 64. She was born on January 27, 1954, in Augusta, GA to Vernon Rickerson and Bettie Tapley Rickerson. She was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Slidell, LA.
Theresa was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted Lynn Shields Sr.; her son Airman First Class Kenneth Raymond Stevens; her father Vernon P. Rickerson; her mother Betty Tapley Rickerson; father-in-law Charles Ray Shields; brother Vernon “Chip” Pierce Rickerson Jr., Robert Vernon Rickerson; sister Sharon Laverne Rickerson Sullivan; brother-in-law David Ray Shields and grandson Logan Chase Shields.
She is survived by her children Michael Lynn (Crystal), Claude Stevens Jr. (Pam), Debbie Jean (Dean), Elmer Arthur Stevens (Erin), Laurie Ann, Stacy Lynn (David Jr.), Vernon Charles (Patricia) and Ted Lynn Jr. (Gloria); stepmother Annabelle Rickerson; mother-in-law Mildred Shields; brother-in-law Larry Wayne, Ronald Gene and David Kirk.
Proud grandmother of Ariana Paige, Laci Christine, Isabella, Liam, Alexander, Robert, Jess Jr., Wayne David III, Kristina Marie, Lloyd Kenneth, Donnie (Cara), Mary, Caden Daniel, Danilyn Amelia, Elijah Arthur, Phoebe and – Last but not least – her beloved furbabies Elvis, Elmo, Prissy and Ella.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, February 10, 2018, from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
