JoAnn Mary Russo Williams passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at the age of 82. She was the cherished wife of the late Lonnie R. Williams. Loving mother of Michele W. Theriot (Michael) and Joseph DiGiovanni (Judy). Daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Masters Russo. Sister of the late Joseph A. Russo. Sister-in-law of Tine Calo (the late Joe). Proud grandmother of Julie DiGiovanni, Monique Theriot, and Macie Theriot. Devoted aunt of Gail Stein, John Russo, and the late Deborah Russo. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many relatives, cousins, dear friends and especially Beth Cerise, Lynne Cantrelle and Charlette Theriot.
JoAnn was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of Arabi, LA where she enjoyed a long career with Whitney Bank. Following Hurricane Katrina, she settled in Covington, LA where she continued to enjoy her wonderful gift for cooking the best meals for her family and friends. JoAnn will always be remembered for her loyalty and dedication to her family, her caring and loving spirit, her laughter, and spoiling the grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all those whose lives she touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, February 15th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Mass in JoAnn’s memory beginning at 12:00 PM.
