St. Bernard Schools seeking passionate, driven teachers

The St. Bernard Parish School District has recently released the Program Application for Teach St. Bernard – an alternative certification program for recent college graduates and career changers looking to teach in high-needs subjects in the school district. Unlike traditional teacher licensure programs, Teach St. Bernard provides a path to becoming a teacher in the district through a high quality, no out-of-pocket cost program making it easier for candidates to make an impact while making an income.

To apply to the program, candidates must be college graduates who hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher as evidenced by an official transcript, and candidates must have passing scores on PRAXIS I (or equivalent ACT/SAT score) and PRAXIS II (content knowledge) for the designated area in which the teacher will be teaching.

Candidates need to be interested in teaching one of the following: Secondary Math, Science, English, Business, or Special Education; Elementary Special Education.
