Over 2000 visitors to the Maumus Center

Since opening its doors, the Planetarium at the Maumus Center in Old Arabi has allowed thousands of students and visitors the opportunity to experience the wonders of space.  This year over 700 visitors and nearly 1500 students have visited the center, exploring the world of science through the state-of-the-art planetarium and varying science lab activities throughout the center.

There will be two opportunities this month for members of the community to attend the public shows at the Planetarium. On March 3, there will be three shows: Zula Patrol: Under the Weather, Space Park 360, and Super Volcanoes. There will also be evening show on Wednesday, March 21 of Super Volcanoes beginning at 6:30 P.M.

The Planetarium is just another example of the district’s commitment to the students and citizens of St. Bernard Parish.
