St. Bernard Art Guild painting demonstration

Calling all Art Enthusiasts!

The St. Bernard Art Guild will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, March 8th at Paintin’ da Parish, 3313 Paris Road in Chalmette at 6:30 p.m. The Art Guild is pleased to host a demonstration given by New Orleans Artist Jeanine Nahra Falcone.

A native of Iowa, Falcone moved to New Orleans in 1980 and now calls it home. Despite working in many mediums, her primary interest has been the meticulous art form of scratchboard. Jeanine specializes in scratchboards of animals both domestic and wild but has added another dimension to her art by using subtle color to emphasize the delicate lines. Her creativity captures the natural beauty and majesty of the animals as well as the fascinating characteristics of flowers and landscapes. Jeanineʼs artwork has received international recognition. She has sold her artwork to public, private, and corporate collections throughout the world. Jeanine has also worked closely with the Franklin Mint to create a collection of images on collectors’ plates and pocket knives.

The demonstration will be held right after the meeting and open to anyone wishing to attend. The Art Guild holds meetings on the second Thursday of each month. For further information, please contact SBAG President Beth Vincent at pixbybethvincent@gmail.com.
