Gertrude “Trudy” Loup Marshall went to meet her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 12, 2018. Trudy was a native of New Orleans and lived most of her life in Chalmette. She married her beloved husband, Oliver Marshall in 1963. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Left to mourn her loss are her 4 daughters, Bitsy Schulingkamp, Leslie Bachemin (Glenn), Carol Carollo (Troy) and Tracey Crain; 1 son Richard Marshall (Sandra); 9 grandchildren, Dennis, Kandice, Victoria (Jeff), Troy (Stephanie), Corey, Abby, Jennifer, Lauren, and Emily; 4 great-grandchildren, Nidia, Trey, Micah, and Charlotte; dear friends R. J. and Karen Guidry, and Mike and Alice Ginart.
Trudy was preceded in death by her parents. Lloyd Loup and Justine Moulin, her husband Oliver Marshall, and devoted cousins Dee Dee and Bugs Viloria, and Cathy and Tommy Callaghan. She also leaves behind many cousins and treasured friends. Her family grieves her loss but takes comfort in knowing that she died in Christ and is now pain-free.
A visitation was held on Monday, March 19, 2018, at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue Street in Chalmette, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a Mass in her honor at 4:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest at a later date.
