Cajun Experience with Ann Vidrine at the St. Bernard Parish Library

The St. Bernard Parish Library’s spring installment of its Saturday with the Arts series is sure to have participants snapping, tapping and dancing for joy. Ms. Ann Vidrine, a third generation Cajun fiddler will be at the library’s main branch, located at 2600 Palmisano Blvd., in Chalmette on Saturday, April 28th at 10:30 a.m. for a free family program.

Ms. Vidrine’s visit will mark the first time the library has presented a Cajun music program since Hurricane Katrina. Ms. Vidrine brings a life-time of experience to her performances. She first began playing guitar when she was just eight years old. It wasn’t long before she was playing with her uncle’s Cajun fiddle band. She has been presenting her original Cajun Experience program to libraries since 1989. Audience members will learn about our rich Cajun heritage, explore Louisiana’s state symbols help to make an old-time Cajun fiddle bow all the while enjoying authentic Cajun fiddling.
