Nunez Community College Chapter of Gamma Beta Phi welcomes new members

Not pictured: Joshua Heigle, Michal Jazwinski, Melissa Kandous, Tyrone Landry Jr. Timothy Owen Masterson II, Ali Meyer, William Taylor, and Hong Cuc Trinh.

Nunez Community College’s chapter of Gamma Beta Phi inducted new members. Gamma Beta Phi Society was chartered in 1964 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Today, Gamma Beta Phi has chapters across the country. The Society regularly inducts academically excellent students who share its mission of promoting education and providing community service. In recent years, The Gamma Beta Phi Society has supported various charities such as St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the Heavenly Hats Foundation, and Heifer International. There are approximately 40,000 active student members of Gamma Beta Phi. Locally Gamma Beta Phi has collected and donated Easter baskets for the children at the St. Bernard battered women’s shelter, collected and donated books for the Salvation Army transition housing library, fundraised and joined a team for the American Cancer Society ‘Relay For Life’ donated to the Wounded Warrior project held a collection for the St. Bernard food bank and sent Christmas cards to soldiers overseas.
