Harold (H.J. / Ace) Jacob Lind, Jr., born July 4, 1931, passed away on April 21, 2018, at the age of 86. He was the beloved son of Harold J. Lind, Sr. and Mary Plaisance Lind who preceded him in death. H.J. was married to the late June Torres Lind for 38 years. He was a resident of Poydras, LA until Hurricane Katrina and was a current resident of Slidell. He is survived by his children and their spouses Darla Lind Morales (Paul Morales, III) and Harold J. Lind, III (Heike McCormick Lind), his grandchildren Paul Morales, IV, Michelle Morales, Clayton Lind and Caleb Lind.
He is survived by his brother Carlos Lind (Donna), his sister-in-law Lena Torres (the late Sidney) and his brother-in-law Robert Torres, Sr. (the late Mertye and Anita). He was preceded in death by his sister Gayle Lind Tamor (Walter), his sister-in-laws Helen Torres Bergeron (Roland-R.J.) and Ruth Torres Crespo (Roman). H.J. had many loving nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family members.
He will be fondly remembered by his dear friends Janet Hager and Patsy Romero and many others. H.J. served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1958. He retired from Southern Natural Gas Company, Toca after 35 years of service.
He loved to travel, eating out, working on his crossword puzzles, assembling jigsaw puzzles, watching old TV programs and was an excellent carpenter. He was enthralled by the amazing technology of Google and always asking to search for someone or something.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial celebration to be held at Rocky & Carlo’s, 613 W. St. Bernard Hwy., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, May 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with Military Honors at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA.
