Joyce Ann Doran Gioe

Joyce Ann Doran Gioe, age 82, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and a resident of Chalmette, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018, while surrounded by all of her family. She was a graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School and was the co-owner and operator of Burns Tax Agency for more than 30 years. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her friends, but the family was the most important thing in her life. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, gardening, and cross stitching, especially for her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Carlo “Bucky” Gioe; children, Harry (Connie) Gioe, Barry (Cindy) Gioe, and Lori (Randy) Cauthen; 6 grandchildren, Jeffrey Gioe, Collin Cauthen, Cassidy (Helene) Cauthen, Jene’ Gioe, Tyler (Ashley) Gioe, and Courtney Cauthen; 2 step-grandchildren, Andrew (Hillary) Ellender and Caroline (Shane) Garnett; 4 great-grandchildren, Haylee Gioe, Ronnie Hebert, Jr., Kaia Beydoun and Nash Gioe; and 1 step-great-grandchild, Amelia Garnett. She also leaves behind numerous close members of the Gioe and Prestenback families.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Doran, her mother Evelyn Doran Burns, her step-father, Gilbert Burns, her sister, Doris Doran Prestenback, her daughter in law, Debbie Favalora Gioe and one grandson, Devin Joseph Gioe,

A visitation will be held at St, Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., in Chalmette on Monday, April 30, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a funeral service in her honor at 1:00 p.m. Jeffrey Gioe, Collin Cauthen, Cassidey Cauthen, Tyler Gioe, Ronnie Hebert and Kurt Burchert will serve as pallbearers.
