Michael A. Hueschen

Michael A. Hueschen, 78 years old, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 28, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife Lois Matthews Hueschen and shared 52 wonderful years together. Loving father of Michelle Hueschen and Troy Hueschen (Cheri).  Son of the late Norman Hueschen and Melba Caillouet Hueschen. Brother of Claude Hueschen, Diane Hueschen Louis (Ricky) and the late Norman Hueschen and Lester Hueschen. Proud grandfather of Abbey and Lindsey Hueschen. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Michael was born in born in New Orleans, LA on January 26, 1940 and was a resident of St. Bernard Parish for over 40 years. He graduated from Nichols High School and enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1958 where he proudly served for 8 years. He was a talented carpenter and worked in the construction industry until his retirement.

He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Slidell, LA, Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Chalmette, LA, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Poplarville, MS, Knights of Columbus Council No. 15121, Poplarville, MS, Rummel Knights of Columbus Council No. 5747 and Knights of Columbus Council No. 23732. He enjoyed camping, traveling, cooking, restoration of antique vehicles, watching sports, especially the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans, and spending time with his family.  He will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
