Wayne James Schlosser, Sr.

Wayne James Schlosser, Sr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at his home in Meraux, Louisiana.  Wayne was born on November 24, 1947, in New Orleans, to the late Charles Schlosser, Sr. and May Smith Schlosser.  He was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran, “Semper Fi” who served in the Vietnam War.  Wayne was cared for during his long battle with cancer by his beloved wife, Barbara Molero Schlosser.  He was a devoted father to Wayne Schlosser, Jr., Nicole Ferrier (Michael), Jaime Schlosser, Robert Flanagan, and Frank Flanagan (Joann).  He is survived by four grandchildren, Chelsey Schlosser, Specialist SPC Sebastian Schlosser, US Army (Sadie), Isabella Schlosser, Sophie Harrison, and his great-granddaughter, Scarlett Schlosser.  He is also survived by his siblings, Charles Schlosser, Jr., Linda Strickland, Henry Schlosser, Judy Mclendon, his nieces and nephews, and his sisters and brothers in law.  Wayne is preceded in death by his brothers, James Schlosser and Roy Schlosser, and by his sister, Diane Giammanchere.

A Memorial Visitation will be held for Wayne at   ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE ST., in Chalmette, on Thursday, May 10, 2018, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.  A Memorial Prayer Service will begin at 11:00 AM.  He will be laid to rest, with military honors, in Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, in Slidell.  To sign and view the family guestbook, please visit www.stbernardmemorial.com.
