Floyd Joseph Landry, Sr. husband of Josie Landry for 69 years. Preceded in death by his parents; Fualdes and Elita Landry, his brothers; Minos and Fualdes Jr. and his sister; Verna as well as his eldest son; Floyd J. Landry, Jr. (Deana). Survived by his sons Bobby (Lisa), Kerry (Linda) and Wayne (Riki) and 34 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Former President of the St. Bernard Parish Police Juror, member of the St. Bernard Parish School Board, St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office, Library Board, past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 5747, Charter member of the St. Bernard Lions Club, as well as many local and state committees including various civic organizations.
He touched many people in St. Bernard while working at Rodorho Wholesale Furniture and the Sheriff’s office. He will be remembered for his generosity when people were in need and never passing a person on the street without waving. He was a devout Catholic, attending Our Lady of Prompt Succor and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Churches.
Relatives and all friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OUR LADY OF LOURDES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2621 Colonial Blvd., Violet, LA on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 2:00 PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, St. Bernard, LA.
