Book signing event to be held at the Norman Mayer Library

Local author Judy K. White will be holding a book signing event at the Norman Mayer Library, 3001 Gentilly Blvd., on Friday, July 6th. The event will begin at 1:00 p.m. and continue until 3:00 p.m.

Judy K. White is a historic encounter. She has survived breast cancer not once or twice but three times. Never judge a book by its cover because she looks nothing like what she’s gone through.

She lives by, “It is Well!” Nobody survives breast cancer alone. September 15, 1991, she heard the voice of God say, “you need a covering.” So she returned to church an gave her life to Christ.

Little did she know how much of a covering that she would need when she heard the words breast cancer in September 1993 and August 1996. A year after Hurricane Katrina in November 2006 once again she heard the words breast cancer.

Her life-threatening challenges didn’t give her cause to give up on life. It woke up the warrior in her.  She fought this intruding disease with the word of God, the medical field and a host of family, friends and church members.

She was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana until Hurricane Katrina forced her up north to Ruston and Grambling, Louisiana. However, after returning home in 2011, she started working on repairing her credit and in December 2016, the Lord blessed her with the purchase of her first home. She loves her new found friends and community in Violet, Louisiana.

Don’t Quit In Your Furnace Of Affliction is a must read for anyone needing encouragement.

Jesus is alright with me!
