St. Bernard Parish Recreational Department is excited to announce the inception of The League of Angels.
This is a sports league for children and adults with disabilities. The league is designed to help our ‘angels’ participate in the community, exercise and most of all have fun! The inaugural season will kick off with baseball and be followed by other sports at a later date. The first games will take place on Tuesday, September 25th at 6:00 p.m. All games will be hosted at the ‘Cloud 6’ field at Val Riess Park. All are welcome to come to cheer these angels on. For those teens and adults who are interested in volunteering, the Recreation Department is in need of ‘sidekicks’ and coaches. The sidekick’s main job is to protect and assist the angels. While bringing joy and excitement into their hearts. Those interested in coaching must also possess the proper temperament and qualifications suitable for this league. Registration forms for participants, sidekicks and coaches will be coming out soon.
