To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must be a high school student who will graduate this spring and also is currently residing in St. Bernard Parish or the East Bank of Plaquemines Parish and also has been a resident for the past three years.

Academic and/or community service requirements have been defined for these scholarships. To obtain applications for these scholarships, students are advised to see either their high school counselors or visit the Kiwanis website at: www.StBernardKiwanis.org

Mitch Perkins, President of the St. Bernard Kiwanis Foundation said, “the awarding of these scholarships is a definite action that exemplifies our Kiwanis Mission Statement which is ‘Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time. We are honored that Lynn and Jacqueline Dean had the vision to establish their endowed scholarship that will carry their legacy for perpetuity.”

“Education is one of the most important issues facing our community. Lynn and I have dedicated our lives to helping improve opportunities for the children of St. Bernard Parish and the East Bank of Plaquemines Parish,” said Jackie Dean. “I’m so grateful this scholarship will provide direct impact to students now and for many years to come.”
