Lorraine O’Brien Saavedra (Granny) went to be with our Lord on April 15, 2017 at the age of 90. She was born to Emma Devillier O’Brien & Jack O’Brien on October 1, 1926 in New Orleans. LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Ruben Saavedra, siblings & one granddaughter. Beloved mother of Catherine, Emma, Ruben (Maddie), Richard (Debbie), Gladys (John), Ernest, Luke and Robert (Jan). Adored Granny of 12 grandchildren, Shelby, Sherry, Dawn, Shana, Julie, Richie, Joshua, Wendy, Terry, Ernie, Katie and John. 18 great grandchildren, Megan, Trisha, Colin, Stephanie, Kaylin, Paige, Tiffani, Ethan, Isabella, Michael, Lauren, Christopher, Richie, Mandie, Ellie, Taylor, Zack, Amiee and Rachel. seven great-great grandchildren, Gavin, Emma, Trent, Aubree, Fabian, Zayah, Coby and one due in July. Lorraine loved her family, reading her bible, praying with everyone, going to the casino, bingo, dancing and singing. Relatives and friends were invited to attend a visitation held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service in her memory at 1:00 p.m. She was laid to rest with her beloved husband in St. Roch Cemetery No. 1.
