Experience the farm at AgMagic on the River on May 13

Kids have fun learning about the connections between agriculture, the environment, and their lives.

Kids and families will be able to see, touch, and experience all things Louisiana agriculture at the fourth annual AgMagic on the River. Students on guided field trips will visit the farm on May 10 through 12, and the festival is free and open to the public on Saturday, May 13 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The event is held at the Meraux Foundation’s Docville Farm (5124 E. St Bernard Hwy., Violet, LA 70092), which offers a world class educational facility in a rural setting just a short drive outside New Orleans.

Visitors will be able to touch live farm animals and participate in fun activities.

The goal of AgMagic is to teach grade school students all about the environment and agriculture of our communities. The interactive journey is designed for third through sixth graders and takes them through the important roles Louisiana’s forests, soils, crops, seafood and livestock have in our everyday lives.

The event is produced by the LSU Ag Center in collaboration with the Meraux Foundation, LA SeaGrant, and 4-H.
