Gary “Monk” Joseph Tassin passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the age of 67. He was the beloved brother of Melanie Becnel, Carol Nicosia, Terry Tassin, Wendy Corbett and the late Aubert “AJ” Tassin, Jr. and Perry Tassin, Sr. Son of the late Aubert Tassin, Sr. and Coralee Bergeron Tassin. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Monk was born in New Orleans, LA and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, receiving several commendations for his service. He will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal brother and a friend of many, who served his country, loved his Harley and treasured his friends and family.
