State Representative Ray Garofalo officially announced his campaign to become the new member of the RSCC for District 3A.

The RSCC is the governing body of the Republican Party of Louisiana. They manage issues such as adopting rules for holding conventions, endorsing candidates, and conducting presidential primaries or caucuses.
As a dedicated conservative who believes in and fights for traditional family values, Garofalo is committed to preserving and fighting for those principles upon which our Constitutional Republic was founded.
Garofalo has significant legislative leadership experience having served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Civil Law and Procedure, the House Committee on Education, and the House Committee on Disaster Recovery. His leadership experience will help him to guide the LGOP to communicate more effectively with the public to educate regarding the issues that affect every Louisiana resident’s quality of life.
In addition to his leadership experience, Garofalo has significant legislative policy experience which enables him to see the big picture on issues that are affecting the party. He has been a true leader on issues such as reducing insurance rates through tort reform and getting our state back to work by opening businesses safely during COVID. Recently, Ray was recognized as the state legislator who took the initiative to bring state high school athletic administrators and state health officials to the table and developed a plan to save the 2020 high school football season. His perspective and unique leadership skills will help move the party forward to increase membership, recruit stronger conservative candidates, and help get those candidates elected.
The District is part of Louisiana Senate district 3 and includes parts of St. Bernard and Orleans Parish. You can find out if you live in the district on the Secretary of State’s Website at https://voterportal.sos.la.gov/Home/VoterLogin.
A lifelong resident of St. Bernard parish, for over 40 years Garofalo has owned and successfully operated several small businesses, primarily in real estate development. He serves as President of the St. Bernard Parish Industrial Development Board. He is a graduate of Loyola Law School and has a limited law practice in real estate and business law. Garofalo also has a successful media production company that for several years produces all the press conferences for the annual Sugar Bowl.
In his platform, Garofalo summarizes his priorities for the LGOP as:
- Recruit highly qualified conservative candidates
- Educate the voters (and pre-voters) on the true issues, not just talking points
- Develop candidate training to help recruited-candidates get elected
- Increase GOP membership and advocacy
- Continue to move Louisiana in a traditional family value direction
- Strive to develop policies that will protect our constitution, our freedoms, and our God-given rights
Garofalo is a registered Republican who resides in Meraux with his wife the former Joan Seibert. Together they have three children and one granddaughter.
The election primary is slated for Saturday, December 5th, with early voting from November 20th through the 28th. More information on Garofalo, his background, platform, and campaign, can be found on his website at www.VoteGarofalo.com or by calling (504) 233-2440.
