The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office booked a Chalmette woman after she made unauthorized purchases with credit cards she stole from a client of her cleaning business, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Kelly Noble, 40, of the 200 block of East Prosper Street in Chalmette, was booked with two counts of theft.

During the course of the investigation, Sheriff Pohlmann said, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau obtained information proving that Noble, who owns a home cleaning business called Clean Vibes Cleaning Service, stole two credit cards from a client’s home and made unauthorized purchases from two local retailers totaling more than $2,400.

Sheriff Pohlmann urges residents to be mindful of who they let in their homes.

“Always make sure you check people out before you allow them unsupervised access to your home and personal belongings,” the Sheriff said. “If possible, get recommendations from friends and family, and ask for references. Do your homework.”

The investigation is ongoing, the Sheriff said.

Anyone who feels they’ve also been a victim of theft by Noble is asked to call the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office at (504) 271-2501, or the Criminal Investigations Bureau’s tip hotline at (504) 271-TIPS or 8477. Callers can choose to give their contact information or remain anonymous.
