Gerald Russell Wahl, Sr. at 83 years old, died on November 18, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Maudry Boudreaux Wahl. Loving father of Gerald Jr., Anthony, Michael, Joseph, Daryl and the late Angelina Mary Wahl (infant). Son of the late Alfred Wahl and Angeline Spadoni Wahl. Brother of the late Lillian Sovich Landry, Alfred Wahl, Jr., Rita Wahl, George Wahl, Thelma Wahl Berggren, Geraldine Wahl Wilson and Ronald Wahl. Father-in-law of Gwendolyn, Penny, Connie and Kasey. Grandfather of Brandon, Brittany, Jessica, Mandy, A.J., Dillon, Kristie, Michael, Jr., Heather, Kandis, Joby, Gabrielle and Kaitelinn. Great Grandfather of Mackenzie, Miller, Hanna, Hayden, Harley, Harper, Claude IV, Oliver and Emma.
Mr. Wahl was a native of New Orleans and lifelong resident of Arabi, La. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church and a former parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Church and St. Henry’s Catholic Church. Mr. Wahl was a member of the International Longshoremen Local 3000, Atlantic & Gulf Stevedores, United Cab Assn., Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge #428, Scottish Right Temple 32nd degree, Covington Masonic Lodge #188, Packenham Chapter 3926, St. Bernard Shiners, St. Bernard Council on Aging, Italian American Marching Club and LA National Guard 141st Field Artillery.
Family, friends and members of his special clubs, Longshoremen and Waterfront workers and United Cab are invited to attend an evening visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, November 22nd from 6:00 p.m.– 10:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning, November 23rd from 8:30 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA beginning at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Maudry in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
