Salvador Gagliano, Sr.

Salvador Gagliano, Sr., passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 28, 2016 at the age of 81. He was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish, LA. Sal was a graduate of St. Bernard High. He was the beloved husband of 49 years to Linda Ansardi Gagliano. Father of Salvador Jr. (Renee), Charles “Chuck” V. (Michelle), Anthony D. (Kristy). Son of the late Vincent Charles Sr. and Catherine Geraci Gagliano.  Beloved brother of Mary Gagliano, Walter (Sheila), Bessie Frosch (the late Warren), the late Joseph (the late Vicki), the late Manuel (Barbara), Marie, Lucy, Anthony, Frank, Benny and Vincent Gagliano, Jr.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brett, Meghan, Brooke, Payton, Hannah, Alyssa, and Gabriel and his great-grandchild Brett.

Sal was a proud member of the United States Army National Guard and was honorably discharged after 6 years of service. He retired from Southern Natural Gas Company after 36 years of dedicated service. He will be forever remembered as a faithful and devoted husband, father, and friend.  Sal was a lifelong successful farmer who had a passion for working with his brothers on the family farm. He was known for expressing his joy and love for life and people through freely sharing of his harvest…especially in the weeks and years following hurricane Katrina.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM.  A Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 PM.  He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, St. Bernard, LA.
