Winston “Skeet” Lawrence Cantrell Sr. went to be with his Lord Thursday, December 8th, 2016 at the age of 75 at his home in Ventress, La. He was born in New Orleans, raised in Violet, La and lived in Chalmette, La until Katrina. Winston worked and retired from the St. Bernard Parish Sewerage and Water Board.
Winston is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Karen Rockvoan Cantrell of Ventress, La; daughters Angel Cantrell Marino of St. Bernard, La and Jenny Arieux Clement and husband Gavin of Ventress, La; grandson Robert Thoulion, Jr. of St. Bernard, granddaughters Layla Mae and Harper Ann Clement of Ventress, La; and great-grandson Kody Lawrence Thoulion of St. Bernard; brother Walter Cantrell and wife Rosie; sisters Phyllis Wellmeyer and Carolyn Perez; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son Winston Cantrell, Jr.; his parents Lloyd and Rena Ebanks Cantrell; brother Lloyd Cantrell, Jr.; sisters Kathleen Henderson and Marjorie Bowley; son-in-law Philip Marino.

Visitation will be held on Monday December 12th at the St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, Louisiana from 10:00 a.m – 1:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Bradley Cantrell, Joey Bowley, Robert Thoulion, Gavin Clement, George Prestridge, and Paul Rockvoan.
