Louis Cyril Rupp passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the age of 96. He was the beloved husband of 72 years to the late Laurentine Weltring Rupp and son of the late Percy and Alma Muller Rupp. Louis was a native of New Orleans, LA and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish before settling in Slidell, LA following hurricane Katrina. Louis enjoyed a 30-year career with New Orleans City Hall while simultaneously teaching evening classes at Delgado Community College. Following his retirement, Louis and Laurentine enjoyed spending time at their summer home in Waveland, MS and loved square dancing with their friends in elaborate costumes hand-created by Laurentine.
He is survived and fondly remembered by many cousins, relatives and dear friends. He was well loved and affectionately known for his good nature and generous heart.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Wednesday, January 25th from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service in his memory beginning at 10:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery No. 3.
